A healthy romantic relationship is based on shared respect. Which means that you and your spouse respect each other’s individual hobbies, needs, and boundaries. It also means that an individual hold each other to a standard that is certainly impossible to meet—if, for example , you’re not a fan of a particular music genre, that is certainly fine, but your significant other should not try to change your tastes to match theirs.

Your partner also shows involvement in your life beyond the relationship and doesn’t assume that the well-being is based entirely on them. They’re curious about aims and dreams, and they really want to discover you advance to the best variant of yourself — not just what you think they would like to see.

Finally, healthy lovers know how to talk about difficult topics and therefore are able to solve conflict without blaming or shaming each other. Including things like funds, fidelity, parenting styles, and more.
